It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

If requesting help, make sure to mention what game you are attempting to use ACT with.
For the best FFXIV support, join Ravahn's Discord Server. Also check out ngld's FFXIV FAQ for starter diagnostics. Lastly, Jojo's setup guide.

  • I've never heard of this happening before.  A 64-bit system should prefer to run ACT as x64 already.  There are very few ways to force it one way or the other.
  • ACT is compiled in such a way that the OS will pick 32/64 and prefer 64-bit where available.  I've never seen it prefer 32-bit instead.  ACTx86 is a wrapper that requires 32-bit and loads normal ACT in that context.  I attached the reverse of thi…

  • Please read the banner that is displayed on every page.  You've provided no info on what you're actually using/playing. Most likely the answer is that I have no idea.  If you're using repository based plugins like Cactbot or Triggernometry, you'l…
  • I'm still not sure why it's happening to (only?) you, but at least I have an error message and general code location.
  • Next time it happens, go to the About tab in ACT and send me a feedback form with the log.  The closer to after it happens, the better.
  • It's controlled by the classic Speech Control Panel applet. (Spoiler)

  • * [1] Click Show Checkboxes (Merge/Delete). * [2-3] Click each zone checkbox you want to include.  Checking the zone will check all individual encounters. * [4] Click Merge Checked. * [5] Find the new merged encounter at the top of the list. (S…
  • The short answer is that it's not going to happen because of how the FFXIV Plugin works and how OSX works. FFXIV on Mac is just the Windows game client working inside of WINE through an official distribution channel.  The FFXIV Plugin works in Linu…

  • Ruant said: {...} How can I download and install properly this plugin. Without manually unzip folder. {...} Without ACT open, remove the Cactbot folders you manually created, or really any named that.  Open ACT, go to the Plugins tab, in…
  • CactbotEventSource is used by CactbotOverlay.  It cannot be added as an ACT plugin directly. Though that's not what the error message is about... it's saying the path to the DLL has parts that do not exist.  If you're trying to add CactbotEventSour…
  • The History Database will look for the first log file that is newer than the end of the encounter.  Once it finds the candidate, it will scan the file for the starting point of the encounter, then perform normal parsing. If your logs were modified …
  • The only thing I've heard about like that is if your video card is prioritizing the game and halting updates to non-focused windows.  For AMD it's called Chill or something.  Other people have solved it by frame limiting/capping the game so that oth…
  • I ran this looping test for three hours and nothing unexpected happened... The timers used both WAV and TTS alerts to make the test more complex.
  • My only suggestion is to make sure that the FFXIV Plugin is loaded before OverlayPlugin... so that the overlays are always created after the parsing plugin has initialized. Assuming that you're even using those plugins...  the term mini parse could…
  • The only thought I have is that you have the wrong EQ2 parsing plugin, like perhaps the English-Japan one... except that it would keep telling you about errors every minute until you told it to stop... but you don't mention anything like that.
  • Anyone with this issue...  please try WinPCap Network mode in the parsing plugin and install Npcap.  So far no one is willing to try and report back. 😛 https://nmap.org/npcap/dist/npcap-0.9991.exe Default settings are fine, check the 2nd checkbox i…
  • It follows EQ2's mechanics as of a decade ago when I implemented it.  Which means that the recast timer is set when the spell is cast and nothing else matters.  The debuff has to be on the combatant when the spell is cast; it doesn't matter what the…
  • Yes.  This is part of an EQ2 mechanic.  Recast timers are calculated by the game at the end of the spell cast.  Debuffs that modify recast timers have a duration themselves.  If the Attacker dies, the debuff falls off early but that changes nothing …
  • All I can really suggest is to make sure that they only have the EQ2 English plugin enabled.  Multiple parsing plugins will cause issues.  Using any other EQ2 parsing plugin would be bad as well... such as the EQ2 English-Japan one.
  • ...have you even tried to see if WinPCap mode fixes your issue?  Not to mention, did you even try to see if disabling Avast actually helps or not?  If you're unwilling to experiment, then yes... you're not going to get any solution. Random firewal…
  • I'm just telling you what others have found out.  In actuality, it is probably SquareEnix's fault when patch 5.2 is combined with Avast and ACT.  You will have zero success telling SquareEnix to fix the issue and may even receive an official warning…
  • People in Discord are saying that Avast Firewall is an issue.  With Avast disabled, the connection remains stable.
  • Then you'll have to take it up with the author of Triggernometry.  To make that screenshot was the first time I've used it.  I cannot provide support for it.
  • I mentioned this before, but you cannot allow other plugins to use their own sound engine if you want SlimDX to work.
