ACTv3-Setup.exe Virus Detected

I am getting the following when I try to download the exe or zip file. I recently uninstalled ACT due to some trigger issues that I could not resolve, and was hoping that a clean install would do the trick.

  • That tells me nothing, so I can't say anything about it.
  • I can only assume that the download icon means it's about the download.

There are no scan hits on the URLs, so it can only be the file itself...

If you don't use any of the above AV companies, then I have no clue and you will have to figure this out yourself.
  • Sorry for not being more clear. McAffee is flagging both the exe and zip file when attempting to download. The image is what is displayed notifying me of the virus detection by the AV.  If I am reading the second comment correctly, since I am using McAffee I am on my own?   Thanks in advance

I can't tell you why 5/71 of these AV companies are incompetent.  Two of them rely on AI for their nonsense and they likely couldn't tell you why, if you asked.

PS.  I'm going to leave this link in every AV complaint in case anyone wants to read it: https://blog.nirsoft.net/2009/05/17/antivirus-companies-cause-a-big-headache-to-small-developers/

  • Thank you EQAditu. I was able to bypass the error downloading a previous version, then updating to the latest. Now to get things working again heh. I'll check the forums for anyone else having the issue I am seeing after the install
  • That's funny since the update package usually gets flagged more than the setup.  I can only assume because the update can detect ACT processes and kill them if necessary before updating.  AVs seem to hate process functions but it's necessary for smooth operation.
  • Heh I get it. The other problem I had has also been resolved. It was the ID10T error, I some how turned off logging  :s
