Howdy, Stranger!

It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

If you are running a version of Windows before Windows 10 and when downloading/updating get a message similar to, "Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel."... please install a newer version of the .NET Framework from Microsoft. Vista can only use v4.6. Others should install the newest available, like v4.8.

  • If I don't use system sounds, I would have to package WAV files with ACT or rely on WAV files that exist with a certain version of Windows but might not exist on another.  System sounds are invoked when a MessageBox is used as well.  The type of …
  • What you're describing is an intentional feedback for a system that is controlled remotely, rather than a bug.  It makes sense as a feature request, though. I sort of feel like this can be split up into two different enhancements. * Change the Ac…
  • I don't really know what you're asking.  By default, ACT does not listen on any ports as it doesn't expect Internet traffic sent directly to it.
  • The most perplexing part is that it was working and then broke.  I assume your description means that the table/graph in the Main tab remains blank?  Everything I think of suggesting gets countered by something already described. If you're willing,…
  • So, the FFXIV plugin's overlay shows the healthbar... so memory reading is okay.  ACT is apparently parsing custom triggers, so the log file is being generated and read. Is it possible you have multiple parsing plugins active and the second one is …
  • It's the first time I've seen a message mentioning that namespace, but I think it's an overly specific thing to search for.  Regardless, everything I have read regarding it suggests that the .NET Framework was corrupted and reinstalling it could sol…
  • I've been thinking about this and I still can't come up with a better answer than it's a firewall issue.  Your browser can connect, so it's not a routing or DNS issue.  If ACT could connect but something bad happened, it would be a different message…
  • The above should have helped even Windows Vista with that type of error.  It really shouldn't be the case since you're playing FFXIV, but by chance are you using the "ACT (32-bit only)" / ACTx86.exe shortcut/executable?  I think that way of starting…
  • .NET just doesn't use that way of constructing regular expressions at all.  If you need to make a global modifier, it's changed in the constructor of the regular expression class rather than being part of the string.  Like 10 years ago, it was a …
  • I'm afraid you're speaking Greek to me.  The only direction I can point you in is the parsing plugin's Discord Server.  Not only will they know what you're talking about, but the plugin's author can eventually fix the problem if there is a problem t…

  • That looks like the main program version check.  All that really does is check with a simple URL.  There's not a lot of complication there. I imagine the same thing happens if you check for updates in the About tab or click the Get Plugins... butto…
  • From what I hear, if you use Windows Firewall, after an ACT update you may need to remove the firewall exception and re-add it. If you're talking about only updating the parsing plugin and it breaking, it might not be the same fix.
  • There's a certain amount that the parsing plugin gets directly from the game's memory.  There's no chance that will work for a PS4 or even Mac.  The parsing plugin will more or less refuse to work without an active FFXIV process to monitor, so the r…

  • There would have to be considerable CPU stress to cause the first one, I think. Any method of prioritizing the GUI would likely impact whatever else is using CPU, such as the game?  But your edit says you have tried that. In the Options tab of …
  • There are two things. If there is not enough CPU resources to update quick enough, the UI timer that updates the GUI will get pushed back.  It's not a critical timing system. The encounter length is a duration of the current encounter's actions. …
  • If you paste %APPDATA%\Advanced Combat Tracker\Config into Explorer, it will bring you to where configurations are stored.  Advanced Combat Tracker.config.xml belongs to the main program and will store vanilla custom triggers.  If you open it as a t…
  • What you describe is, to me, the very definition of a custom trigger.  A TTS callout for a matching log line in the file.  The trigger happens to be defined as capturing part of the log line itself to be read through TTS.  If the log line has weird …
  • I'm not really an expert on the subject, but the plugin tab has a test game connection which is supposed to point to your next diagnosis steps, more or less.  If you're using normal network mode, you might need to reapply firewall rules.  If that st…
  • I dug into the web logs and you downloaded the plugin at: * 08/Jul/2019:18:05:48 * 08/Jul/2019:18:09:15 * 08/Jul/2019:19:45:01 * 08/Jul/2019:20:02:12 * 08/Jul/2019:20:02:13 At this point, the server limited your downloads to this file and I won't…
  • I don't think the base plugin does anything special with triggers.  So, there's base ACT triggers and then there might be any number of plugins that you might have with a different configuration for triggers.  There isn't really a way to know what p…
  • Unfortunately I'm not in a position to diagnose or even test this happening as I don't play FFXIV.  Reporting the issue here will also have limited success as the plugin author primarily uses his discord server and gets plenty of feedback from it.
  • Unfortunately, I can't say what is and what is not normal memory usage for FFXIV. If you were to start ACT fresh, go to the Import/Export tab and import an entire day's worth of logs... how much memory does ACT use?  And how large is the log file t…
  • The plugin author should have this fixed in the next coming version... but you might have the error happen one more time as it updates to that new version.  But the error doesn't seem to happen to all people... so it might not happen every time to a…
