EQ2 English Cannot Correctly Handle Names Ending in an "s"

As of the update today, ACT treats every spell or combat art for characters whose names end in an "s" as a separate character. The client text assigns the spell or combat art to a character using the possessive apostrophe "s" after the name, except for characters with names ending in an "s" where it only adds the apostrophe. That may be the issue.

As of the update of what?  ACT's updates have nothing to do with these sorts of things and work just fine.

EQ2 has always done what you described for names ending in S or Z except for oddly localized versions like EN-JP.  Unless Daybreak decided to break something recently, I really have no idea what you're talking about.

  • You mentioning the oddly localized version caused me to look at what plugins I had running. Somehow, the EN-JP plugin was running, in addition to the English. Disabling the EN-JP parser fixed the issue. Apologies.
